Austin Stacks/Lee Strand Invitational Tournament Takes Place This Saturday

THE 36th edition of the Austin Stacks / Lee Strand Invitational Football Tournament will take place this Saturday at Austin Stacks club grounds in Connolly Park, Tralee.

There are 12 teams taking part from six different counties in the illustrious competition which saw two Tralee clubs winning trophies last year.

Churchill  won the Billy Breen Memorial Shield, Na Gaeil won the Abie Allen Plate while Dublin side Clontarf took home the big one, the Denis O’Connor/Lee Strand Cup.

The clubs taking part this year are Austin Stacks; Na Gaeil; Kerins O’Rahillys / St. Pats; Churchill; An Ghaeltacht; Nemo Rangers, Cork; Na Piarsaigh, Cork; Ennistymon, Co. Clare; Stradbally, Co. Waterford; Oranmore Maree, Co. Galway; Salthill/Knocknacarra, Co. Galway and Clontarf, Dublin.

The matches will be played on the Main Pitch and on the Nuns Field, with group games commencing at 10.30am.   The Billy Breen Memorial Shield Final and the Abie Allen Plate Final are scheduled for 4.30pm with the Denis O’ Connor / Lee Strand Cup Final to follow at 5.30pm.
