Ballymac GAA are delighted to be presenting the 2018 Strictly Love Dancing again this year at the Ballygarry Hotel on February 3rd.

The dancers have been preparing for the last few months and they assure us that this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The show begins at 8pm and we would recommend everyone arrive early to ensure a good viewing position at the venue.

Tickets are all but sold out to date but keep your eye on the Ballymac Strictly Love Dancing Facebook page in case any more become available .

Reminder

Goalkeeper coaching with Joby Costello will take place very Monday evening at John Mitchells Astro from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Its 10 euro a session but really worth it as our keepers will receive a high quality and very valuable coaching skills from Joby. Ballymac are encouraging as many keepers as possible to avail of this coaching.

Community Games

Congratulations to our u16 Boys Basketball team who were crowned County Champions on Sunday last in Duagh.

They began with impressive victories over Castleisland and Killarney which qualified them for the Final against Currow/Currans. They continued their good form to win the Gold medals and progress to the Munster Finals to be held in April.Special mention must be made of coach Jack Culloty for the work he has put in with these lads.

Panel: James Baily Ciaran Brosnan Cathal Culloty Luke Curtin Adam Kelly Mike Mc Carthy Sean Pollman Daamen Tim Pollman Daamen Darragh Sweeney Jack Tobin.

Well done also to our U11 mixed Basketball  team who came home with Bronze medals following their efforts last weekend. In their group games they began with a good victory over Ballydonoghue next up were Currow/Currans where after a close encounter we emerged victorious.

This qualified us for a semi final game against Spa/Muckross. We didn’t play to our potential and it was the Killarney side who progressed to the final.

We then faced Duagh/Lyre in the 3rd/4th place play off,in this game the team performed very well to record a four point victory and well deserved medals. Great credit is due to coaches Mary Brosnan and Anthony Griffin who put in a lot of work getting the side ready for competition.

Panel:Anna Collins Maura Culloty Eppie Edwards Sarah O Rourke Shane Brosnan Luke Griffin Michael Quirke Con Sheehan.

Overall our Basketball teams performed exceptionally well in Community Games  winning medals in 4 of the 5 age groups in boys and girls. Credit for this must go to the local Bobcats Club where the vast majority of these players are coached in Basketball.
