Our Senior Men had two good results this weekend. Our Division 1 Team drew with Milltown in Caherslee and our Div6 B team defeated John Mitchels in John Mitchels. Match reports below
Next weekend both teams are out again: Dates and Venues to be confirmed.

Ballymacelligott 1-08 Milltown/Castlemaine 1-08
Venue: Caherslee Date: 30th March 24
We in Ballymac GAA wish to extend our Thanks to Joe Wallace & The Caherslee Committee who facilitated our game in Caherslee GAA Grounds on Saturday evening last. Despite the atrocious weather the pitch and surrounds were in good condition thanks to Joe and his team.
Aidan Breen’s majestic goal from a free, minutes into the second half was one of the highlights of this game. Another feature of the game was watching Eoin Creedon coming out from the back line with the ball. Time and time again he cleared the ball to safety.
Dara Sweeney opened the scoring with a point from play for Ballymac. Milltown replied with three from play from Dara Hogan, Sean Hogan, and Gavin Horan. Ballymac Captain Vinnie Horan added a point from play.
Tadhg Brick broke down a fine ball and passed it to Daniel O’Shea who gave a great pass to Aidan Breen who added another point for Ballymac.
Daire Keane and Sean Hogan added one each for their respective sides before Aidan Breen pointed from a free following a foul on Daire Keane. The score was 0-5 to 0-4 halfway through the half.
Things stagnated for Ballymac after another minute when Cathal Moriarty for the Mid-Kerry side worked his way past three defenders and scored a goal.
Milltown was in the lead and added another point in the 21st minute of the half. In this quarter Ballymac had four wides and this left the Half-time score with the Milltown in the lead by three points.

The second half opened with a sublime goal from Aidan Breen. Aidan took a free and it curled into the goal-a once-in-a-season goal to witness that inspired the team and warmed the Ballymac supporters! A foul on Donal Daly close to the goal gave Aidan Breen another point from the resulting free.
Ballymac now had a point lead six minutes into the second half. Cathal Moriarty leveled the game with a fine point from play 11 minutes into the half. Ballymac went into the lead again when Vinnie Horan won a ball and scored a point. Within a minute Dara Hogan had scored a point from a free and Milltown were level.
Aidan Breen scored Ballymac’s last game point from a free following a foul on the Ballymac Captain. Dara Hogan leveled again from a free and this was the game’s final score. There was plenty of action left after that last score 21 minutes into the half but neither team got that coveted last point to win the game. The game ended in a draw.
This was a solid performance from the team with Vinnie Horan, and Aidan Breen outstanding in the forwards as were Tadhg Brick and Eoin Creedon in defense.

Ballymac GAA appreciates and wishes to thank John Mitchel’s Club for facilitating our game last Saturday evening. At scáth a cheile a mhaireann na daoine.
The difference at the end of the game, was a goal from Conor Brick, the thirteen score of the game in the last ten minutes that made the difference. Very little separated the teams who scored thirteen scores each and Ballymac’s win by two points gave them their first two points in the County League.
The game’s first two points came from frees, Ted Fitzgerald’s for Mitchel’s, and Michael Herlihy for Ballymac. Shane McGillicuddy fired a strong shot past Mitchel’s goalkeeper and within a few minutes Sky Lynch had turned over a ball and passed it to Michael Herlihy who added another goal for Ballymac.
Mitchel’s scored a point. Following great work by Brian Cassidy, Shane Gilroy added one for Ballymac, Brian Costello scored a point from a free for Mitchel’s followed by another point and a goal from the Tralee side. The last two scores, before halftime, were points by Skye Lynch and Mike Hoare

Peter Murphy started the second half for John Mitchel’s and made an immediate impact for the Tralee side who scored a goal from a pass from his superb pass. Michéal Savage scored a point for Ballymac as did Peter Murphy for Mitchels, Skye Lynch caught the kick-out and passed the ball to Barry Lyons who passed it back to Skye who scored a point. Brian Costello added one for Mitchels. John Mitchel’s scored three points on the trot two from Peter Murphy and they were in the lead by two points.
Mike Hoare added a point, John Mitchel added one—Maurice O’Connell for Ballymac, and Peter Murphy from Mitchels traded points. Things went well for Ballymac with Conor Brick scoring that all-important goal followed by points from Michéal Savage. Peter Murphy scored the last point of the game before the whistle blew.
Full-Time score was: Ballymac 3-10 John Mitchel’s 2-11
This was another solid performance from a team that is improving every day. Every player was involved in the game and individually had an important effect on the final result. Conor Martin making his debut in goals in the SFL did well as did Ciarán Brosnan and Cian Godley in the backs. In the forwards: Skye Lynch, Shane Gilroy, Mike Hoare, and Shane McGillicuddy performed well

Under 15 Boys
On Wed’s last our u15 boys opened their county league campaign away to Dr Crokes. The weather threatened to call it off, and after some over and back, eventually the fixture went ahead.
We really struggled for the 1st 20 mins. But from then on, we showed huge improvement in every aspect of our play.
However, Crokes were more efficient in front of goals and gained the victory by the narrowest of margins, on a final score of

Our Yellow and Blue u 11 teams played St Pats Blennerville in the Tralee / St Brendan’s go games league on Thursday evening. Thanks to all for coming and supporting the Boys.
