SENIOR TEAM

Our Senior Team continued their Co. League campaign on Saturday evening next when we welcome Brosna to Ballymac for a 7.30pm throw in game.  When the same sides met in the last of the Co. League in 2014 Ballymac secured a vital victory.  Hopefully we can have a repeat result on Saturday evening.  All support would be most welcome for the lads.
TED O KEEFE FAMILY FUN DAY

The annual Ted O’Keefe Family Fun Day took place on Sunday the 21st of Junebetween 14.00 and 17.00.

A great range of activities took place on the day with some memorable performances in the tug-o-war. A great afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended and fortunately the rain stayed away until late in the evening.

Many thanks to all the volunteers on the day, our sponsors and the organisers of a very enjoyable event – well done.

The success of the day lies with the organising committee of Oonagh O’Rahilly, Olivia O’Rahilly, Paula Silles, Dave Slattery and Jeremiah Lynch who left no stone unturned to ensure that all families attending had a most enjoyable day.

KILGARVAN/TOUSIST 0-14         BALLYMAC 3-9

We came away from Kilgarvan with two valuable league points after a hard earned victory over the local side in our first County League outing.

The home side were on top for most of the first half while the second half was keenly contested. Eoin o’ Malley pointed for us early in the first half but the home side responded with 4 points.

Midway through the half Barry Lyons put Dara Reagan through but he was pulled down which resulted in a penalty.

Keelan scored a goal from the penalty spot to tie the scores. A further two points from Dara Keane and one each from Dara Reagan and Eoin O’Malley completed our first half scoring. Kilgarvan added a further 5 more points in the first half.

The half time score was Kilgarvan/Tousist 0-9 Ballymac 1-5. Into the second half and Barry pointed for us after 5 minutes and Michael Hoare gave us the lead with another point. Kilgarvan tied the scores again before Dara Reagan scored a goal after good approach work by Keelan and Michael Hoare.

The local side responded by scoring 4 unanswered points inside ten minutes. However with five minutes left Michael Hoare pointed to tie the game again. Liam O’ Malley added another point.

From the kick out Barry Lyons won possession and sent in a high ball which deceived the goalie and ended up in the net with only a minute left on the clock.

This score ensured that Ballymac got their County league campaign off to the ideal start. Next up are Glenflesk at home on the 24th of June.

Ballymac 5-12 Austin Stacks 4-06

We played Austin Stacks at home on Tuesday the 16th of June in Rd. 3 of the Div 1 County League. After a great battle with our near neighbours we came out on top on a score line of Ballymac 5-12 Austin Stacks 4-06. Great Credit must be given to our lads who put in a super performance on the night.

FAOI 12 Ballymac Gold team

Ballymac Gold team lined out against Austin Stacks without two of their stalwarts Mossie Brennan & Mark O’ Connor.

The boys promised before the game they would dig deep and put in a special effort to keep their 100% win record for their missing team mates. They kept their word! The first half was nip and tuck with a great goal and a point from Alfonzo Marquez and points from Donal Daly and Adam Wharton leaving Ballymac trailing 1-2 to 1-6 at halftime.

This was a game of two halves as a great goal from Gary Lynch, an excellent score from the impressive Oisin Shanahan, three points from the excellent James Kenny, and a point from Adam Walker left Ballymac up one point with the last kick of the game remaining.

Donal Daly took that kick from the side-line and slotted it over to leave Ballymac as eventual winners 2-11 to 3-6. A fitting victory to mark Alfonzo Marquez’s last game before returning to Spain! Muchas Gracias Alfonzo.

FAOI 12 Blue Team

Laune Rangers 2-16 Ballymac 0-09

We travelled to Laune Rangers last Sunday evening the 21st of June in Rd. 4 of the Div 1 County League.

We were missing a number of our panel due to injuries & holidays but we put in a great effort on the night.

Although we came up short on the night our boys can be very pleased with their performance and it may have been a different result if we had everybody available to us on the night. We play Kenmare in the final round next Sunday evening at 6pm in Ballymac.

FAOI 12 Gold Team

Laune Rangers 3-07 Ballymac 2-14

Our U12 Gold Team travelled to Laune Rangers last Sunday evening the 21st of June in Rd. 4 of the Div 1B County League.

We put in a great performance on the night and won the game on a score line of Laune Rangers 3-07 Ballymac 2-14.

With one more game left against Kenmare we can be crowned league winners which would be a great achievement.

FAOI 10

FAOI 8

Cordal hosted the U8 GO Games blitz on Thursday the 18th of June and it was a good evening of football for our young lads. We had a great turnout on the evening and were able to field two teams. Both teams did really well on the night on a lovely evening for football. The other competing teams were Cordal, Scartaglin, Currow, and Castleisland Desmonds. The academy returns next Sunday the 28th at 11.00am.

CAILINI FAOI 12

The girls travelled to Abbeydorney on Tuesday evening last and met a bang in form home team who beat us comprehensively on the night. Our girls had one of those games where no one really played well and considering it was their first game losing this year , they will move on from it and hopefully learn a few things in the process. The final score was 7 -10 to 4-4 but the girls are still through to the quarter finals  having finished joint second in the table . The time and date of this game is tbc.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The An Riocht track was a hive of activity on Saturday and Sunday last when it hosted the Community Games Athletics Finals.  Well done to all Ballymac competitors who reached this stage of the competition. A special congratulations goes to Roisin Rahilly who won a gold medal in the 100m U10 Girls Final and Anna Collins who picked up a bronze in the U8 Girls 60m sprint.  A special thanks goes to Ballymac Community Games co-ordinator Sheila Rahilly whose commitment to this event gave kids from the Parish an opportunity to show case their athletic talent.  Many thanks Sheila.
