THE boundary wall at the carpark at Casement Station in Tralee is to be replaced in the coming months.

Sinn Féin Deputy Pa Daly has welcomed the news having received confirmation of plans for Casement Station and the John Joe Sheedy Road in response to a parliamentary question.

“Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that it will assist Kerry County Council planners in the development of a Master Plan for the John Joe Sheedy Road area to include a scheme to replace the existing carpark boundary wall with landscape planting in the coming months,” said Deputy Daly.

“This is a project which I had discussed with Kerry County Council numerous times over the past four years and will greatly improve this important entrance to Tralee Town Centre.”

“The works may be extended to the bus station and that is also a positive development. The current wall around the station is not in keeping with the cut stone design of the station itself,” added the Tralee man.

“I am personally satisfied to see this project have a proper timetable, as it has been discussed since I became a councillor. I will be keeping a close eye and making sure things stay on track,” added the Deputy.
