“I was working and I saw three missed calls on my phone from the Credit Union,” Breda told us on Monday afternoon as she accepted the keys from fellow Rockie, Pa Laide, CEO of Cara Credit Union.

“I couldn’t believe it, I was shocked and delighted. The fact that it’s black and amber is even better, it’s a lovely car,” said Breda.

Breda is a true Rockie with her late father, Frank, a former Stacks Chairman in the 70s and Kerry County Board Chairman back in the late 70s/1980s during the golden era. Her son Shane currently stars for the Stacks seniors.

Cara Credit Union purchased the car from McElligotts, Tralee. The Credit Union run their car draw four times a year at a cost of €6.00 per draw.

Any surplus left over at the end of the year is raffled out to their car draw members in the form of cash prizes at Christmas time.

Their next car draw takes place in the summer, for further information visit their website www.caracreditunion.ie or call in to their offices in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin.
