A FORMER National Lottery employee, who worked with the organisation for 27 years, saw her dream realised when she got to spin the iconic Grand Prize Wheel when she appeared on the Winning Streak game show on RTE One on Saturday.

Originally from Castleisland, Margaret Flynn is now living in Kimmage in Dublin. The lady who spent many weekends working behind the scenes of the popular game show as a National Lottery employee walked away with a total of €67,000 after her appearance on the show.

A delighted Margaret – who left the National lottery in 2014 – said she was shocked and delighted to have been selected to appear on Winning Streak.

Saying she was “thrilled with the win”, where she won prizes totalling €67,000, which included €22,000 on her Grand Prize Wheel spin – Margaret said she still could not believe her luck in getting the chance to be on the other side of the camera on Winning Streak with co-hosts Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy.

She began working with the National Lottery since its inception in 1987 from day one. Fondly remembered by all her former colleagues, Margaret proved to be a colourful character on Saturday’s show.

Luck was certainly on Margaret’s side as her one goal on the show was to win enough to get a new car as her current car “Molly”, a ’98 Nissan Micra, is nearing retirement. She did than that as she won a Toyota Corolla worth €25,000 and has plenty of cash for petrol money.

GAA mad Margaret may be living in Dublin for decades now but this still never diluted her love for Kerry – especially when it comes to Gaelic Football and she speaks fondly of the banter between herself and National Lottery colleagues whenever Dublin played Kerry.
