rsz_1churchill_gaa_2The last two weeks have been very successful for both our u-16 and u-14 teams.Firstly the u-16swon the Div 5 County league after a replay out in Ballyduff against Moyvane/Tarbert. This team was captained by Thomas Linehan. They won on a score-line of 4-12 to3-14.

Again the scoring in chief was Oisin o Brien with 2 goals and 1 each from George Downing and Jason Mortimer. The excellent coaches on the night were Kenneth Lenihan,Owen Gleeson and Peter Rolls.

The u-14s had a good win over Na Gaeil in the St. Brendans Board Final played in Blennerville on a score line of 3-11 to 2-06. Churchill played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and raced into a lead of 3-10 to 0-02.Best were Bryan Murray, Sean Hamilton,Liam o Donnell,Brendan Walsh and Jason Mortimer.

The skill level of this team was excellent and is down to all the hard work put in by coaches Peter,Jim and Dave. This team owes us nothing and had a wonderfull year compeating in Div.1, but the highlight must be getting to the final of div.3 of the National Feile up in Kildare. This showed that not alone could we compete with the best in Kerry but Ireland.

The St. Brendans u-16s had two huge wins in the Kerry County Champinship over West Kerry and Feale Rangers and now play Mid Kerry in the semis on Monday night at a venue to be decided.Churchill players on the panel were Sean Mortimer, Sean Donnellan,Thomas Lenihan and Oisin o Brien and selector is Kenneth Lenihan.
