Ivan Parker celebrates Kerry’s All Ireland junior final victory. He came on to contribute to the win.

Seniors: Churchill entertain Knocknagoshel this Saturday evening in our final County League game of the season. A victory is vital to keep our slim hopes of promotion alive. Throw-in at our new pitch is at 6pm.

Congratulations to Ivan Parker who won a Junior All Ireland title with Kerry and contributed a point in a 2-19 to 1-14 victory over Meath in the Final played in Portlaoise on Saturday.

U16: Our U-16 team hosted An Ghaeltacht on Wednesday night last in the New Pitch in the County League.  Churchill got off to a slow start in the first half and trailed the visitors at the break 2-07 to 1-02.

The lads put in a tremendous second half performance to reduce the deficit to one point with ten minutes remaining, but an impressive Ghaeltacht team with a late goal came out on top, leaving the final score Ghaeltacht 3-12 Churchill 3-7.  Great credit must go to both teams, who played some excellent football in a very sporting encounter.  Training continues on this Wednesday night 9th August in the New Pitch 7.30 to 8.45 pm.

U12:  Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday this week before our first Division 1 Central League game on Monday 14th August against Laune Rangers. Full attendance is requested to maximise our preparation for the tests that lie ahead.

Cul Camps: Churchill hosted the Kelloggs GAA Cul Camps in the Spa last week. There was a huge attendance of over 120 boys and girls aged between 6 and 13, who were put through their paces over a very enjoyable five days of training and games. Thankfully the weather remained dry for the most part and all the youngsters really enjoyed the experience.

A big thank you to all the young mentors, under the watchful eye of Micheal Quirke, who ran a very professional and entertaining course and well done to all the young players who took part.
