To Mikey Brennan, who was a member of the victorious Kerry Junior team that defeated Cork in the Munster Final in Tralee last Wednesday evening, and to Ivan Parker and Eoin O’Brien who were on the Kerry Minor panel that defeated Cork in the Munster Final in Cork on Sunday.

Best of luck to you all in the All-Ireland Series.

Also Sean Hamilton gave a man of the match performance in the final playing for the North Kerry u-14s and Sean Donnellan reprented the club with the North Kerry u-15s.

Only for holidays the two Mortimers Sean and Jason would also have worn the green and gold at the weekend. This shows that with 7 Kerry players in one weekend how well our coaching is getting on.

Again a huge thanks to coaching officer Peter and all the coaches who give of their free time to make these players better.

Juveniles

U6s, U8s, and U10s training continues every Sunday at 11am in The Spa. We are getting great attendances to each session and the improvement in skill levels are very evident to all the coaches. Well done to all.

GAA Cúl Camps are on in Churchill this week and hopefully everyone that participates will have fun and get a chance to improve their skills even further under the expert guidance of Micheál Quirke.

The B team play Duagh on Friday the 11/07/14 @ 7.30p.m. in Duagh. This is a County semi-final and we would like to see all our supporters out in force.

The St. Brendans senior team play Dingle on Saturday evening in Austin Stacks Park at 6pm. Again your support would be great as if they win these they will be in the quarter final. This is a very important team as it gives our senior footballers the change to play in the Senior County Championship.

Crime

A spate of anti-social behaviour activity hit the village of Fenit last weekend again. Tyres were slashed on local people cars and Samphire lighthouse was wrecked with windows broken and a lot of damage to the inside.

This is not accecpable as this is a tourist amienty and could cost jobs while it is closed. It is also a navigation guide for boats intering and leaving the harbour and it could cost lives. They needed a boat to get out to this.

Rowing

Fenit rowing club are again proud to be hold the County Champinships for the second year in a row on Saturday July 28th.

Again this is due to thr great officers we have in the club and what a wonderfull venue Fenit is for all water sports. Bag packing will also be on in big Dunnes on Fribay and Saturday the 25th and 26th,so anyone that can spate an hour your help would be welcome. Any local kids wishing to take up rowing can call to see the lads who row every evening from 6-9 p.m.

Grants

Three local clubs got grants under the Sports Capital Programme.Tralee Rowing Clud got £21,000,Tralee Sailing Club, got £20,000 and Tralee Bay swimming Club got £9,000.Again this shows the great work be done by the officers of these clubs.

Some of the local children from Fenit that had just completed a week long sailing course in Tralee Bay Sailing School, Fenit. The children had a very enjoyable week making full use of the amazing facilities that the school has to offer. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful amenity as Tralee Bay Sailing School in our local area we should all try to make more use of it. Thank you to all of the brilliant Instructors and Commodore Richard Hurley for making it such an enjoyable week for all involved.
