Brendan Grace will unveil a plaque in memory of Nedeen Kelliher next week.

A PLAQUE in memory of jarvey and much-loved local character, Nedeen Kelliher, will be unveiled near Blennerville windmill next week.

Doing the honours will be comedian Brendan Grace, who was a fond friend of the late Nedeen when he visited the town in years gone by. Nedeen Kelliher from Annagh was a figure known to many and left a huge impression on tourists and many stars who came to visit Tralee.

Operating from in front of the Brandon Hotel, he showed tourists around Tralee in his jarvey cart and entertained them with his wit and mannerisms.

Sadly, Needen passed away 27 years ago in March 29, 1989. Family members hope the plaque will keep his memory alive and make sure such a well known character of Tralee’s past is not forgotten. The unveiling will take place in Blennerville on Wednesday, July 13 at 7:30pm.
