COLÁISTE Gleann Lí is preparing to host their annual table quiz on Friday night and they’ve brought a local charity on board this year.

The school holds an annual Table Quiz at the Ballymac Bar in Boherbee to raise funds for the school but this year they intend to donate half of the monies raised to Comfort for Chemo Kerry.

Tables of four are €40 and the quiz starts at 8pm. Mary Fitzgerald of Comfort for Chemo Kerry said they are delighted to work  with  Colaiste Gleann Li  and be part of this fundraiser.

Their aim is to build a standalone Chemotherapy Unit within the grounds of University Hospital Kerry which will cost in the region of €5 million.

“This unit will provide must needed Chemotherapy services for the people of Kerry locally which negates the need for them to travel outside of the county and help ease the stress that the cohort of patients are already under,” said Mary.

“It is initiatives like this that bring communities together and this is a fantastic way of highlighting to the younger generation that working together is powerful when trying to achieve a common goal,” she added.  To reserve a table for the night, please contact the school on 0667122552.
