Gaelcholáiste Students’ Design To Feature At London And New York Events

Art teacher Deirdre Ní Shiochán with students Nia Ní Chiarba, Roisin Ní Mhathúna, Iseult Ní Bhriain and Nicole Arefjeva and the design packaged up ready for its travels to events in London and New York.

GAELCHOLÁISTE Chiarraí students will have their fashion creation feature in a number of Junk Kouture events and premieres in September and October in New York and London.

Nia Ní Chiarba, Roisin Ní Mhathúna, Iseult Ní Bhriain and Nicole Arefjeva created ‘Hauticouture’ which featured in the Junkkouture Final last May.

The organisers of Junk Kouture are taking 15 designs from schools across Ireland to showcase in New York and London and the girls’ creation is one of them.

The first of these will be at Climate Week in New York this month so the students will be keeping an eye on social media to see if the design will be featured.

Art teacher Deirdre Ní Shiochán said that as part of Climate Week NYC, the unveiling of a window display of Junk Kouture designs will be showcased as part of Climate Week NYC – running from 17-24 September.
