CAKES and buns were out in force at Tralee Garda Station where a coffee morning fundraiser was held for three-year-old Ceejay McCardle, from Castleblaney, Co.Monaghan who is who is fighting childhood leukaemia.

Ceejay became the youngest member of An Garda Síochána in June when he graduated from Garda College in Templemore alongside a new batch of recruits.

All funds raised from the coffee mornings – which also took place in stations around the county – will go towards sending Ceejay and members of his family to New York where they will march in the 2017 St Patrick’s Day parade alongside his colleagues from An Garda Siochana and the New York Police Department.
