GARDAI in Tralee are investigating an incident where a young boy was injured when he was involved in a collision with a cyclist in the town centre last week.
On Wednesday last, the boy aged between 8 and 10 years was with his parents in the Abbeycourt area at about 4.45pm.
The cyclist was riding a grey and silver mountain bike and travelled at speed from the Square. He collided with the boy outside the Swamp fashion store.

The boy was treated for facial injuries which are not serious. The cyclist, was also injured but left the scene of the accident.
He is described as being aged in his mid-30s, about 6′ 2″, wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt and runners. If anyone has any information in relation to the incident, they are asked to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066 71 02300.

Yes, I drive and make way for cyclists on the road and always check my mirrors for them and pedestrians. When I cycle, I do so on the road and use the road by the rules of the road and never had an accident while walking, cycling or driving…..simple! Everyone knows what I am going to do because I go by a set of agreed legal rules of actions.
