GARDAI are asking for the public’s assistance with regard to incidents of criminal damage in the town.
In the early hours of today, Monday morning, significant damage was caused at the gateway to St John’s Church in Castle Street.
The stone pillar was damaged in the incident. Gardaí believe someone may have climbed the gates and caused the damage when getting over to the other side.
Meanwhile a number of parking meters in car parks have been damaged and money taken from them. Some meters located the Brandon Car Park and Slatts Car Park off John Joe Sheehy Road/Boherbee have been tampered with.
Gardaí don’t have a timeframe for the incidents but if anyone notices something wrong with a meter, to contact them at 066-7102300.
