GARDAI investigating an incident in Tralee Town Park when the slide in the playground was doused in bleach are following a definite line of enquiry and have examined CCTV footage.
A Tralee father took his child to the playground on Saturday. The young girl used the slide and when her father investigated he saw her jeans was soaked in bleach.
Timmy Collins posted about the incident on the ‘Tralee Do You Know’ Facebook page and people have been reacting with horror that someone would do such a thing.
Speaking to Jerry O’Sullivan on this morning’s ‘Kerry Today’ show on Radio Kerry, Mr Collins said it could have been much worse as his daughter usually goes down the slide face first.

He said there was a little redness on his daughter’s legs after the incident, but she is doing fine. He said it was hard to understand the mentality of someone who would do such a thing.
Gardaí were called and closed the playground so the side could be cleaned. They are now investigating the incident. CCTV footage has been obtained. They are appealing to the public for information. If you were in the Park between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday and saw anything suspicious, please contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.
Mr Collins feels there should be someone monitoring the area every hour during Park opening times to prevent anti-social behaviour at the playground.
