The staff at Garvey’s Supervalu in Rock Street are celebrating after they won Best Medium Store in Ireland 2017 at the Supervalu Awards.
The team from Garvey’s SuperValu were presented with their award by Martin Kelleher, SuperValu Managing Director and Michael Morgan, SuperValu Sales Director.
Winning this title recognises the exceptional standards of the Tralee store as SuperValu stores throughout the Republic of Ireland were assessed and adjudicated by independent completion judge, Paul Ellison to determine the most deserving winner.

The audits focused on product range and innovation, store presentation, fresh food offering, customer care and store quality and hygiene standards.
On receipt of the award, Kevin McCarthy paid tribute to store manager Sandra Lynch and the Tralee team.
He acknowledged their passion and enthusiasm for the business and their dedication to providing a unique shopping experience for their customers.
“In 2016 we invested €2million and completely revamped our store demonstrating our long-standing commitment to the community and economy in Tralee. Our staff of 85 embraced this change and the store is exceeding all expectations. We have been serving the community of Tralee for over 25 years and its fitting to win this award on this milestone. We are very proud of the team and the store and we just to wish to thank our customers for their loyalty over the past 25 years.”
