IF you want to get involved in Tralee’s St.Patrick’s Day parade then this will be great preparation.

As part of the Creative Ireland Kerry Activation plan, under the theme of nurturing the creative sector and fostering cultural innovation Kerry County Council has initiated a street spectacle training and engagement project with community groups in Kerry.

These creative parade workshops take in place in the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre on this Sunday, February 24, Sunday, March 3 and Sunday, March 10 from 11 – 2 and 2 – 4.

The workshops are free and all ages are welcome. Participants can attend all day or half day, as they wish.

Caoimhe Dunn is an experienced facilitator in street spectacle creativity and she is available to work with interested groups and individuals in Tralee for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Caoimhe has already worked successfully with the Biddy’s Day parade in Killorglin, assisting volunteers there in making some new pieces for their parade. She is also working with groups in Killarney for their St. Patrick’s Day parade.

“We’re delighted to have Caoimhe working with us here in Kerry,” says Kate Kennelly, Arts Officer with Kerry County Council.

“She has so much experience in this area and I would urge everyone who plans to be in the parade to look at the dates she is working in Tralee and try and get along to a session or two. It promises to be great fun and I want to thank everyone involved who has come on board the project and is helping it come together.”
