A KILMOYLEY man got a timely boost to his finances this week when he won the Kerins O’Rahillys ‘Last Man Standing’ National Football League competition.

James Godley beat off over 900 competitors to win the €500 prize, which will come in handy as he is getting married shortly.

There were 120 people still standing after the final round of Sunday, but James’ cumulative score just pipped Norma O’Connor in second and John Bingham in third. Funnily enough, it was Kerins O’Rahillys Rob O’Connor who sold the tickets to the top three players.

Fundraising season is in full swing at Kerins O’Rahillys with a sold out Golf Classic taking place on Good Friday while they will soon launch their annual US Masters competition.
