PEOPLE from Castlegregory and beyond  will keep up a long-standing tradition when they take part in the Jamie Wrenn Walk on Saturday, July 25.

Back in 1999, Castlegregory man Jamie Wrenn, began a charity walk in aid of cancer that has become a long standing tradition. A cancer sufferer himself, unfortunately Jamie lost his battle with the disease in 2008.

In 2010 with the permission from the Wrenn family, the walk was revived and since then a total of €54,813 has been raised for the Health Link Bus.

This year, the organisers have decided to carry out the walk in aid of Kerry Hospice/Palliative Care, with the aim of furnishing one of their newly built rooms.

The walk  sets off at 10am from the Aquadome and along the way, there are three refreshment stops; firstly, O’Sheas in Curraheen, then The Junction Bar, Camp where refreshments are kindly laid out.

The next stop is a 15 minute break at the Seven Hogs before reaching the final destination in Castlegregory.

If you would like to take part, sponsorship cards are available from Horan’s Fruit and Veg in the The Horan Centre.
