UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

There was no training on Sunday due to a Club Coaching Course.

Next training session will be Sunday June 5th.

New players are always welcome.

U8/U10/GIRLS

We had a great turnout for our 1st midweek session on Wednesday.

We started with kick passing and moved onto hand passing and tackling drills before a very well contested game.

Keep up the good work girls. The improvement from all girls is there to see. A special thanks to all the parents for bringing the girls to training .

The girls had no training on Sunday and got to have a well-deserved lye in.

Next training is Wednesday evening 6.30-7.30pm

U12 Girls.

We played against Spa at home last Wednesday evening without a number of our regular players who were unavailable due to illness and the scheduling of the Cumann na mBunscoil Schools Division 1 final which was played in Austin Stacks Park at the same time.

We defended bravely and showed tremendous character against a very strong Killarney outfit and when the final whistle blew the girls from Killarney were ahead.

The girls should be very proud of how they are performing in the green and gold jersey this season. They have a never say die attitude and the commitment they show every week is admirable.

We are scheduled to play Currow away this Wednesday evening the 1st of June. Throw in time is still to be confirmed.

The coaches would like to thank all the parents and guardians who help out every week, washing jerseys or being the female liaison officer at games. Every little helps and we are very grateful.

U14 GIRLS

The new County League competition began last weekend and John Mitchel’s first game was away to Listowel Emmet’s B on Friday night.

There was a full turnout and thankfully we had Nadya back after a collision midweek in training.

It was a comprehensive victory for the Mitchel’s team. Solid at the back with Eabha,  Sadhbh and Gia in the full back line, while Laoise, Isabel, Ava and later Nicole kept the Listowel forwards out.

Midfield saw Nadya, Ellie and Brigid rotating, while up front Kerri at full forward was a major focal point, scoring 2 goals and causing no end of bother, ably assisted by Ellie Reidy, Ella and Dionne, while the rest of the players, including Katelyn, Megan and Kelly, all worked hard when they came on.

A great start to the competition and next week sees the team play Firies.

Training continues during the week and coaches are looking for a full turnout.

U16 GIRLS

Training for U16 ladies continues this Monday evening from 6.00-7.00pm in preparation for upcoming North Kerry League.

We were up by 9pts up at half time, a typical game of 2 halves.

We ran out of steam and had a few injuries which changed the game . We were beaten by 5pts in the finish.

We are learning more at every game.
