UNDER 12s

Both our U12 Teams were in action last Monday night in the first round of the Central League. We travelled to Barrow to play Churchill in very challenging conditions, however in testament to all the boys, we had a turnout of 32 players. We recorded fantastic wins in both games against a very strong Churchill outfit. Special mention to Jack Daly, Darragh Field & Jack Noonan who stepped up from the U10s to give fantastic performances. The future is bright with this talented bunch of players! Both Green & Gold teams are out against Laune Rangers on Thursday 15th August at 7pm in Killorglin.

Training continues Monday and Wednesday nights at 7pm.

UNDER 8 & U/10 GIRLS

Despite the heavy rain that fell throughout the week, leading to a heavy training pitch, there was no shortage of enthusiasm for the John Mitchels u-8/u-10 girls in Ballyseedy on Sunday morning.
With a Munster LGFA blitz on the horizon in Fossa next Saturday, it was important for the girls to get in some valuable match practice on grass, and the muddy knees after the training session showed that everybody got stuck in.
Emily and Grace’s athleticism and ability on the ball was once again to the fore, while Ciara showed her passing vision and ability to fight through crowded areas of the field. With both Millie and Sophie grabbing some excellent scores, the girls showed a lot of grit when looking to gain possession. Hannah, Courtney and Maddison were able to find team-mates with some excellent passes, while Ava was in the middle of everything, sneaking in to gain possession in criticism situations.

Coaches Caroline and Padraig were very happy with the commitment shown by all the players and are looking for them to practice their hand passing and kicking over the week

Next Saturday sees the players travel to Killarney for a Munster LGFA blitz in Fossa. All parents will be contacted during the week with more details about the blitz.

UNDER 16 BOYS

Our U16 lads are in the middle of what is quickly becoming a very impressive County League campaign. This team have won all of their 4 group games so far in both good and bad conditions with Ballyduff their last group game to secure a home semi-final hopefully. Training continues every Monday and Saturday. Our Under 16 Boys face Churchill in the County League Final Wednesday Night 7pm @Connolly Park, support much appreciated.

After winning all 5 group games we faced St. Senans in the semi-final at Ballyseedy and we came out comfortably on top after a powerful performance from all the team.
