UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

60 little heroes trained on Munster final Sunday in glorious sunshine.  Lots of improved skills were evident and indeed the standard is improving week on week.  Well done to everyone for delaying beach trips etc to make the effort to train.  Looking forward to next Sunday and as ever new boys and girls are very welcome at 11am in our complex in Ballyseedy

Do not forget to fill out the return to play form before each session.

U8/U10 GIRLS

John Mitchel’s u8 and u10 girls were delighted to welcome our neighbours St Pats, Blennerville to Ballyseedy on Sunday for some challenge matches.

The weather was fine, and the teams divided up into an u8 and a u10 team were very evenly matched with the St Pats teams, ensuring very competitive games throughout.

The u8s saw some excellent performances from Micaela, Ally, Brooke, Aine, Nicole, Siun, Ava, Aideen, Lucy, and Roisin, as they kicked some excellent scores, worked well defensively, and gave their all on what was a very hot day.

Both teams worked hard throughout, and it was very pleasing to see the work that had been put in on the training ground coming out during a competitive game.

The u10s put in no less an effort, working very hard against a strong St Pats team and the game ebbed and flowed, with each team having periods of dominance. Maddison, Ava, Millie, Aine, Emma, all stood out, with Roisin, Alannah, Ella, Sophie, Amberleigh, and Aeibhin working hard throughout.

Many thanks to St Pats for coming over for a very competitive morning’s games and we look forward to the return visit in a few weeks.

Training continues next Sunday at 10.15 and it is important to get as many players as possible to training over the coming weeks.

UNDER 9 BOYS

Ballymac came calling to our club this beautiful Sunday morning for non-competitive go games

We set up three pitches with go-games going on in two pitches and small sided games for our subs on a third pitch.

The action was fierce from the get-go with both teams moving the ball brilliantly coupled with some lovely scoring from close range and from out the field.

The last game of the day was for our older u9s v Ballymac older u9s and sufficed to say Kerry football is in good hands with some of the skill and bravery on display from both sides in what was a hum dinger to finish off a great morning of football.

We say a huge thanks to Ballymac for coming in to play us and we hope to reciprocate soon thank you

Also, a huge thanks to our young referees Sean Corkery and Dean Dillane for officiating and thanks to the mentors who helped set up the pitches

Training continues every Wednesday 530 and Sunday mornings 10.15am and all Welcome to come and check it out in a fun and safe environment

Well done again boys

UNDER 11 BOYS

On a beautiful balmy yesterday evening, our u11 boys were in action, at home, in the County League Go Games against Laune Rangers

Our squad was split into two teams and games were played on two pitches with 3*13-minute games.

Both Mitchel’s teams served up some brilliant football. The football at times was scintillating coupled with tough and tenacious tackling making it a fantastic evening of football from both Mitchel’s and Laune Rangers.

Special mention to some of our u9s who made their County League debuts. They were not found wanting any of them, so well done to our u9s

Also, thanks to the mentors and referees and those who set up the pitches

We also thank Laune Rangers for coming to Tralee to play us

Well done boys

SENIOR LADIES

Senior ladies played yet another difficult game on Monday night against a very strong Cromane Team. The weather had affected both teams and made conditions very difficult for playing. The ladies put up as best defence as they could but with no subs, they found the game difficult to control.

Cromane had great scores and took their chances every time. The ladies tired out quickly in the second half but by then the game was over. The ladies finished strong didn’t give up and keep going until the final whistle. The ladies next game is home to Currow on Monday 26th at 7.30pm. Please show your support

Anyone interested in joining should come along and give it a go. If you are 16 and over, you are more than welcome to join. Great way to meet new people and keep active also.
