Well done to the Kerry Ladies on making the All-Ireland Final yesterday in Croke park.

Unfortunately, you did not come out the victors but you did your county proud. From everyone here at John Mitchels best of luck in the future.

UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS
A fantastic morning this Sunday full of fun and games. The children were full of enthusiasm and energy from our weeks break for the All Ireland Final.

The games focused on the children developing their skills of protecting the ball, throwing, catching and running.

U8/U10/GIRLS

A great turnout on a lovely Sunday Morning in Ballyseedy.

The girls went straight into some drills including kicking hand passing and scoring.

The girls are so much improved and all the coaches are very proud of the effort that all of the players are putting in. Training continues On Sunday next

U12 Girls

Training continued for our 12 girls this week and we had two really good sessions with the girls.

We are still waiting for our fixtures for the upcoming Tralee Town league and we are hopeful that the effort being show in training will be reflected on the score board.

We had a brilliant training game on Wednesday evening where a mixture of our U12s and 13s competed in a very entertaining game.

The improvement since the start of the season has been massive and a lot of credit must be given to the girls who are really giving it everything this season.

We will train this week on Wednesday from 7-8 and again on Sunday morning at midday,  and we look forward to seeing everyone.

Best wishes to Áine Dowling who is competing at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Mullingar this week from all at the Mitchels club.

SENIOR LADIES

Donal Curtin cup semi-final v Rathmore B was played last Thursday in Ballyseedy in ideal conditions. Mitchels played with the breeze and got off to a good start with scores from Rachel Kilgallen .

Ava Buckley and Grace Myers nudged us ahead at the water break. Rathmore upped their game and put our very solid defense under pressure with Emma Walsh in goals very safe and with Tanya O Connor and Shannon Martin fighting for every ball we maintained our lead at half time up by 5 points.

The third quarter saw Rathmore push hard to close the game but great play from Lauren Smullen, Emma Carmody , Sarah Kilgallen & Linda O Connor saw us take a few breakaway scores. With Rathmore pressing all the way, a last quarter a goal from Grace after good work from Simi and Ciara Kilgallen helped by Rachel Mc Eniry, Julie Foley and Claire O Sullivan kept us in front.

A number of injuries slowed the game and with Emilia and Abigail coming on it pushed us to hold out for a great win on a score line of 6-7 to 1-14 ,

Thanks to a very good Rathmore team. We now face the mighty Southern Gaels in the final on Wednesday 3rd August at 8.00pm venue TBC.
