SENIOR LADIES:

On Sunday last both Mitchels and Firies amalgamated for the Senior Championship.
Though we did not get the desired result, this was a good learning curve. This was also the first time Mitchels were represented in the Senior Ladies Championship.
Well done to all and with continued hard work senior status in our own right is not to far away.
Light training session Friday in preparation for Junior A championship Sunday 15th.

U16 LADIES:
Training continues every Tuesday at 7.00 p.m.

C TEAM:
Very light training continues on Thursday evening at 7pm in Ballyseedy. Fixtures details to follow in a few weeks. All welcome.

U14 LADIES:
We played our last game in the Co League last Friday evening against a very strong Laune Rangers team in ideal conditions in Ballyseedy.
Mitchels played with the wind in the first half and despite severe pressure from Rangers went in 1 point up at half time – 2 goals from Rachel, 1 from Ruth and Simi kept us in touch plus 2 points from Ruth. Our midfield of Simi and Kerry were working hard.
Second half Mitchels continued to press hard and our defence stood strong with Tara and goals from Erica, Clara, Mikaela and Julie defending to the end. Up front Rachel, Ruth, Sinead and Simone fought hard. In the end Laune Rangers ran out winners by 4-3 to 6-7. We are now in quarter final awaiting opponents.
Training continues next Thursday at 6.30 pm

U14 BOYS:
The County League has now finished and we rounded up our campaign with an unlucky one point defeat to Currow in a thriller. Currow incidentally went on to easily win their semi final so we can take positives from our campaign .

We played Churchill last Friday evening out in Spa in a back game in the Brendans League and despite missing a number of regulars we put up a good show only going down to a few late goals.
Final score Churchill 7-9 Mitchels 3-13.
Special thanks to Jack O Donoghue and Conor Kerins from the under 12’s who turned up at late notice and played very well. Best on the night were Jordan Mason, Sean Tighe, Dara Caplis, Denis Nolan and Sean Broderick.
Training continues on Monday and Wednesdsay nights for now at 7.15 p.m.

Feile 2016:
Preparations continue for feile and we start our fundraising campaign with a draw for a giant hamper. Each player has a draw card and we would appreciate all to support the players as this is a once in a lifetime occasion for these players.

We are getting closer all the time to Feile which is 7 weeks away at this stage. Training will be stepped up in the coming weeks as we get closer to the big weekend and all players are asked to get to training as often as possible . The official Feile Launch takes place next week in Brosna so the countdown will well and truly begin from there.
Dave Leahy and the Feile committee are putting in all the back ground work to ensure it will be a weekend to remember.

U12 GIRS:
County League Preliminaries
We played second place Finuge St Senans and won on a score line of 4-6 to 2-8.
All girls were outstanding. Scorers for Mitchels were Linda O’Conner (2-03), Sophie Reidy
