Strand RoadJuveniles

Saturday morning training got off to a fine start on Saturday last with Healy Park basking in glorious sunshine. There were very large numbers in attendance with everyone eager to get back into the swing of things. Training continues on Saturday next at 11am in Healy Park Ballyrickard. All welcome.

Girls All the preparation is done and the U10 girls head off to Passage West in Cork on Saturday next to take part in the annual tournament there. We would like to wish the girls and their mentors the best of luck with the day.

On Wednesday last our U14’s put in a very spirited performance in going under to a very strong Ballymac team. We got off to the perfect start with a goal from Conor Hayes in the first minute, but despite plenty of possession we could not convert the chances we had. We lost Ben Foley just after half time with a head injury following an accidental challenge.

We’d like to thank Ballymac for their assistance in attending to Ben and their sportsmanship for playing with 14 players for the remainder of the game. We dug in and played some great football and scored further goals from Darragh Fitz and Thomas White and we were very unlucky not to score a couple of more. This was a great team performance and the boys can be extremely proud of themselves. Best wishes to Ben in his recovery.

Senior Football

Our U21s are due to play Desmonds in the Semi final of the Shield. Date, time and venue to be confirmed. Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter for details.

As you may be aware it will be compulsory for all players senior right down to juvenile to wear mouth-guards at training sessions and when playing games. This comes into effect for seniors from 1st January 2014 and has been in effect for all others since last January. If players fail to wear mouth guards they will not be permitted to participate in football training or matches. No mouthguard No game! Further information on this rule can be found online at

Ladies Football

U12 Girls

The U12 girls played Na Gaeil in the Town League B final on Sunday last. They were beaten but were gracious in defeat and highly commended by North Kerry Secretary Maurice McNamara for being the most improved team in North Kerry this year. Well done girls. Thanks also to all of the girls families for their continued support.

U14/U16 U14 and U16 Ladies train every Tuesday at 6.15 in Ballyrickard.

Congratulations to the Kerry Minor Hurlers and their Management. Kerry won the 2014 Minor All Ireland B Final on Saturday last in Nenagh with a 3-18 to 2-15 win over Meath. Our own Darragh Ryan was part of the team. Well done to all.

Best Wishes

Kerins O’Rahillys are represented on the team by Shane Foley, Karl Mullins and Tom Hoare. Well done lads and lets hope it is only the start of your wearing the “green and gold” for many years to come.
