Kerry Clare 1KERRY minors and seniors will play their All-Ireland Quarter-Finals on Sunday, July 31, it was confirmed yesterday by the GAA.

The minors’ duel with Derry will kick-off the day’s action in Croke Park at 12 noon with the seniors throw-in time yet to be decided.

Kerry will face Clare, Derry or Roscommon. They can’t face Tipperary – should they beat the Derry men next weekend in their qualifier – as Kerry can’t face their provincial final opponents.

Repeat games are also to be avoided where possible, so the only way Kerry can play Clare in the quarter-final is if The Bannermen beat Roscommon in Galway on Saturday and Tipp overcome Derry.

If Tipp and Roscommon win then Kerry will play Roscommon and Galway play Tipperary as the Tribesmen just beat the Rossies in the Connacht final on Sunday.

Whichever way you look at it, any of these teams are unlikely to provide the stern test needed before a potential semi-final against Dublin.

Dublin are likely to get a tougher test against Donegal, Mayo or Cork the following weekend in their quarter-final.

If you’re interested in travelling by rail to Croke Park on July 31, there is one train leaving at 7.10am with two returning later that day at 5pm (if the Kerry throw-in is at 2pm you’ll make it!) and 7.05pm.
