Less Than Five Additional COVID Cases In Kerry, 381 More Nationally

THERE were less than five new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry again today.

There were no additional deaths and 381 new cases of the virus reported nationally.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is just 13.5 per 100,000 people.  There have been 20 cases reported in Kerry the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 2.

Kerry is still the county with the lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days. The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 129.

188 in Dublin, 39 in Donegal, 30 in Kildare, 13 in Limerick, 13 in Cork, 13 in Tipperary, 13 in Westmeath and the remaining 72 cases are spread across 15 other counties.

There have now been 253,189 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,921 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 124 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 31 are in ICU. There have been 15 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Saturday (8 May) there have been 1,827,610 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 1,327,821 people have received their first dose
• 499,789 people have received their second dose
