THREE Kerry children have made it into the final stage of voting in Google’s ‘Doodle 4 Google’ competition with online voting opening to the public open from March 9.

Mikey Corridon from Scoil Naomh Eirc (Group 1) Kilmoyley along Colm O’Sullivan (Group 1) from the same school are joined by Jane Flanagan, Convent Primary School, Listowel (Group 2) as the three Kerry children who are in with a chance of winning the competition.

The competition asks children to create their own designs using the Google logo with whoever is chosen as winner is set receive a €5,000 scholarship along with having their image featured on the Google homepage for an entire day in April 2015.

The €5,000 scholarship is towards their third-level studies. They will receive a Chromebook laptop, and a €10,000 technology grant for their school. Each of the five class group winners and their teachers will also be presented with a Chromebook each.

Voting will close at midnight on March 20. The five most popular doodles, one from each age category, will go forward to the Grand final where the overall winner will be chosen by the official Google doodle team based in Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California.
