Mar fhocal scóir ba mhaith liom gach duine agaibh a spreagadh arís bhúr gcuid Gaeilge a húsáid chomh minic agus is féidir. Cuimhnigí is linne go léir sa tír an teanga. Bígí bródúil astí agus bainigí go léir sult as Seachtain na Gaeilge chomh maith.

(As a final word I’d like to encourage everyone again to use your Irish as often as you can. Remember the language belongs to all of us in the country. Be proud of it and enjoy Seachtain na Gaeilge too.)

Best wishes to the students, teachers and educational staff returning to school in the coming week. A special mention for the youngest members of our club who are returning to preschool tomorrow, we are told your teachers are very excited about having you back, best wishes to you all.

Competition Time:

Many thanks to our Cultural Officer Catherine Dennehy who has been helping us promote and support Seachtain na Gaeilge, Catherine has organised an art competition to help us celebrate please see the details below.

5-8 and 9-12 age groups: Design or colour in your own choice of Milltown/Castlemaine football jersey. There is a picture available to download (On Facebook Page) – or draw your own if you prefer.

13+ : Choose any seanfhocal, write it down and draw a picture to go with it. (The younger age groups can also enter this competition if they prefer.)

Send your picture to the club’s Facebook page or to Danny @ 087 6536631 before 17:00 on March 15th. We will be announcing the winners online around St. Patrick’s Day and the winner in each age group will receive an Easter Egg as a prize.

A big thank you to all of the frontline workers from within our club and across the wider world that continue to work hard to keep us all safe and ensure that life can continue as normal as is possible during these difficult times. As we pass the point at which this pandemic began a year ago we wish to thank you all sincerely for the incredible efforts you have made over the past 12 months and that you all continue to make every day.
