County League:

Our seniors- sponsored by Larkin’s Bar and Restaurant and Kelly’s Londis Top Shop were defeated by Rathmore and Glenbeigh Glencar the County League-Division 1, during the week.

Their luck changed however on Saturday July 8th, when they played Laune Rangers in the Mid Kerry League Final in Beaufort. This was a thrilling encounter as expected with MC being victorious on a score line of 1:13 to 0:10.

The Dermot Twiss Memorial Cup was presented to joint captains Gavin McKenna and Jeremiah Hayes.  Man of the match-sponsored by Bunkers Bar, Killorglin was won by Pa Wrenn who gave a tremendous performance. Well done to all involved.

Kerry South U-14:

Congratulations to club players Cillian Burke and Anthony Kelliher who were part of the Kerry South U14 panel that played in a blitz in Waterford on Saturday last.

Under 12’s:

Our Under 12 team was defeated by Beaufort in Round 1 of the Mid Kerry League. Despite notching up 4:06 on the scoreboard, it still wasn’t enough to overcome Beaufort.  Our B team were victorious-winning on a score line of 5:09 to Beaufort’s 1:05. Well done to both panels and their management team.

Under 10’s:

Our Under 10’s had a super time in Cromane at the weekend playing some challenge games. Thanks to all those that travelled and to Cromane Coiste Na nOg for their hospitality.

Golf Classic:

The winning team -prior to teeing off in our inaugural fundraising Golf Classic sponsored by Derek Twiss, are -L to R Jason Foley, Kieran Foley, Mark Kennedy and James Long.

What a wonderful day was had in Killorglin Golf Club on Saturday last at our inaugural fundraising Golf Classic -sponsored by Derek Twiss. Thirty four teams took to the course in amazing sunshine.

The spectacular views didn’t seem to distract the golfers- with some very high scores coming in after the 18th. Perhaps it was the delicious burger served up after the 10th   that sharpened their shots!

First prize of €600 was won by team James Long, Keel, 2nd prize – a four ball in Waterville went to team Derek Twiss and 3rd prize- a four ball in Beaufort went to Firies GAA team.

Nearest to the Pin was won by Pat Lynch and the longest drive went to Damian Harmon. Congratulations to Nigel Wrenn who won the signed All Ireland (2009) winning Kerry jersey in the raffle.

Sincere thanks to all those who entered teams and to all those who volunteered in so many ways. In particular we wish to thank our many sponsors for their generosity and Killorglin Golf Club for facilitating our Golf Classic.

Lotto:

our recent Match 3 Winner in our GAA Fundraising Lotto Jackpot draw. Pictured is winner Francie Ashe Aughills, Castlemaine with Margaret Ashe. Also included are Tomás Barry – club treasurer and Eileen Spring- Lotto Coordinator.

Our lotto jackpot is now at €15,200 with €550 for a Match 3.

Our next draw is on this Friday night-July 15th in Karl J’S Bar, Milltown. What would you do with €15,200??? Yearly Lotto tickets are now up for renewal.
Once again, sincere thanks to all those who support our fundraising lotto through purchasing tickets or selling them.
