THE eight Kerry Darkness Into Light groups gathered in Ballygarry House Hotel last night to present a cheque to Pieta House.

Thousands of people took to the roads back in May to take part in the event which raises much-needed funds for Pieta House which provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm.

Cora O’Brien, Centre Manager at Pieta House in Tralee, accepted the cheque for €129,335.70 which was raised from the Tralee, Listowel, Killarney, Caherdaniel, Cahersiveen, Glenbeigh, Kenmare and Dingle walks.

Meanwhile, Pieta House in Moyderwell, Tralee is hosting an open day today (Thursday) from 4pm to 8pm. Coffees and teas will be served and all are welcome.

It’s all part of the FeelGood campaign taking place from October 14-27, to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for all. This is their nationwide festival of wellness, mindfulness, being active and coming together.
