THERE was another decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, November 8.
There were 328 new confirmed cases in that period compared to the 373 in the fortnight up to Monday, November 8, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub. This is a further fall from the 400 cases in the fortnight to October 25.
Tralee LEA has a 14-day incidence rate of 992.8 (down from 1,129) per 100,000 of the population, which is still above the national incidence of 924.1 per 100,000 as of last Monday.

In all, there were 1,462 new cases recorded in Kerry during the fortnight period, down from the 1,492 cases recorded in the fortnight up to November 1.
The LEA with the highest incidence in the county is Kenmare LEA with 297 new cases, a rate of 1,185.1 per 100,000. Next is Castleisland LEA which saw 198 new cases and a rate of 1154.9 per 100,000.
After Tralee comes the Killarney Electoral Area which saw 279 new cases, a current 14-day incidence rate of 942.3 per 100k of the population.
Two LEAs in Kerry have an incidence rate below the national average. Listowel saw 250 new cases and a rate of 871.9 per 100,000. The Corca Dhuibhne Local Electoral Area saw 110 new cases and a rate of 775.7 per 100,000.
There have been 11,875 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kerry, since the pandemic began according to the latest data.
