Orlagh Winters ProfileOK folks, it’s finally 2015 and time to make all the resolutions that we will probably break by the time the month ends.

I normally wait until February to make mine as I find January is a busy month catching up with those I didn’t meet over the festive season.

It is also the time that we go on our hols to recharge the batteries so this time next week I will be writing my column from a sunnier climate.

Something that I am happy to let all you fashionistas know about is an event coming up on Saturday, February 7th at Fels Point Hotel. The event is the brainchild of Mary Brick and is aid of Recovery Haven. So what is it?

It is called Dress Haven and is basically an evening where you will be able to buy pre-owned, pre-loved fashion items.

Designer bags, dresses, shoes and all accessories will be available at a fraction of the price and all proceeds will go directly to Recovery Haven.

We all know the fantastic work they do, providing a listening ear, a helping hand and words of wisdom to those affected by cancer. Natural therapies such as massage, reiki and yoga are all available at their centre in Killerisk Road.

So would you like to help? Firstly you can help by donating any of your unwanted items by calling Mary Brick 087 4121013 or Grace O’Donnell 087 2399940.

They will arrange collection or drop off. Think of all those pieces that you know you will never wear again but may look super on someone else.

Cast the green-eyed monster aside for one minute and put the energy into raising funds for a great cause and you don’t have to run a marathon or anything as strenuous as that.

Obviously you can support by attending the event and if you would like to volunteer to help out just give the girls a call.

There will also be pop-up fashion shops on the night and if you or a friend are budding milliners, costume jewellery makers, or indeed anything to do with occasion wear, well then you need to call the girls too.

So put the date in your diary and also start that wardrobe clear-out, all for a wonderful cause!

Until next week,

Stay stylish!!

Orlagh xx
