Orlagh New ProfileSO it’s December and party season is about to commence.

Work parties, catch up with friends dinners and in general late nights are going to become the norm for the next few weeks.

For us ladies, there will be the usual preparation of getting the hair colour done to avoid the dreaded roots and the festive shellac or gel nails to see us through the festive period.

There is also the dilemma of what to wear on the big night out? I have acted as MC for many fashion show and events lately and so I know exactly what is available right here in Tralee.

Believe me there really is no shortage of stylish pieces available. It is no secret that I have a penchant for black and I have seen really stunning pieces on the catwalk. The Little Black Dress (LBD) is, as always one of the most popular looks for this time of year and with the right accessories it can be worn lots of times.

Jasmine Boutique (Tralee and Killarney) has their finger on the pulse and has some amazing dresses. Diane and her team have got it all for occasion wear and there is a huge selection of both sizes and styles.

If your legs are a part of your body that you are not particularly fond of, then perhaps a catsuit would be a simple solution. Call in to Jasmine to have a look at their glamorous offerings.

The great thing about an LBD is that you can change it up for a different look and no one will notice that you are wearing the same dress on different nights.

Add a different neckpiece and earrings and you will have a completely new look. Faux fur is huge again this season and by adding a fur collar to your LBD, you can wear the dress if you are going to a festive lunch.

Take the collar off, add a bling statement necklace and you are ready for the night (your liver may not be, but that’s another story).

I have seen great statement pieces in Billy Nolan’s, John Ross and Connolly’s Jewellery stores and all of these stores have unique collections and the friendliest staff.

It is always worth spending a little extra as the quality is superb in statement necklaces available in these shops.

As always my mantra is to shop local and keep the local economy alive. There really is no need to shop outside of town when there is such a choice right here on our doorstep.

Until next week,

Stay stylish

Orlagh xx
