Over €75,000 In Funding For Kerry Festivals And Events

Tralee Food Festival.

KERRY County Council has announced details of over €75,000 in funding for festival and events in the county this year.

The allocations have been made under the fund which is administered by Kerry County Council on behalf of Fáilte Ireland.

Tralee Food Festival (€2,000) and the SRAC Cycle (€1,500) which took place last weekend in town and is based in Tralee for the next two years, were the only Tralee events to receive funding out of 42 allocations countywide.

The Festival and Participative Events Programme supports festivals and participative events which drive domestic tourism and help to improve the visitor experience in Kerry.

The Tourism Unit of Kerry County Council administers this programme on behalf of Fáilte Ireland.

To be considered for funding, a minimum festival/event expenditure of €10,000 must be demonstrated and 42 festivals and events have been granted funding for 2019 events from a total allocation of €75,250.
