THERE was a fantastic turnout at Mercy Mounthawk on Thursday night for an Intercultural Night to in memory of Martha Brassil.

The much-loved teacher passed away in May of this year and hundreds of students and parents enjoyed a wonderful night which was a great tribute to the work she did over the years for students of different nationalities.

There were food stalls set up serving dishes from all over the word, while there was also performances of music, song, poetry and dance from students of African, Asian and Eastern European origin as well as Irish music.

Martha’s daughter Aisling Fitzgibbon was present and she said she was delighted with the turnout and the gesture by the school. “I’m glad that her work in interculturalism is continuing in the school promoting unity and diversity. I’m delighted to see how the seeds continue to grow,” she said. Scroll down for photos…
