CBS THE GREEN is no stranger to hosting All-Ireland winning receptions and although Sam didn’t pay a visit, pupils of the school did Kerry proud by winning the All-Ireland Minor Football and Minor B Hurling recently.
Jack Morgan and Michéal Reidy were on hand to parade the Tommy Markham cup to fellow students while student Tomas O’Connor showed off the Minor B Hurling trophy.
Eoin O’Brien, was another pupil at the school involved with the minor footballers, but he was unfortunately absent from the celebrations.
It was remarkable that between the two All-Ireland football finals, The Green had a teacher and eight past and present pupils involved in Croke Park.
Kerry hammered Tipperary out the gate in the minor football final with Jack Morgan starring for the Kingdom at corner back. In the junior B hurling final, Kerry had an emphatic victory over Kildare, something that happened with regularity in both codes over the summer months.
