BE careful when you’re driving to Tralee from the east over the next few weeks as Ballygarry House Hotel’s spectacular Christmas lights are sure to distract you!
The hotel has gone the extra mile this year and last night saw a special event to kick off the Christmas season as Padraig Mcgillicuddy explained when we stopped by.
“We’re launching Christmas at Ballygarry with the switching on of the lights and we have Enable Ireland here as our partners, to recognise the great work that they do in the community. My niece, Aoise Healy, has been using Enable Ireland services for 12 years so she had the honour of switching on the lights,” said Padraig.
Service users and staff of Enable Ireland along with staff and staff children of Ballygarry House were invited along and they enjoyed some festive bites and a visit from Santa before the lights were switched on.
A spectacular 40 foot tree, brought in from Europe, is the standout feature on the grounds and it took four men three days to erect it. It almost acts as a beacon for people driving towards Tralee to do their Christmas shopping.
“Amazing work went into the lights from our manager of maintenance Sean Nolan and Thys Vogels and John Mike and Jimmy who did the garden,” said Padraig.
Well done to all for making the approach to the town look so festive. Just keep your eyes on the road though! Scroll down for photos…
