Speaking at the official launch – performed by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD – Ken Tobin spoke about the plans for the future which has the potential to bring many more people back working in the town centre.
Mr Tobin said that in the next two weeks, they will start to develop the second block of HQ in the building next door, where they will have space for 15 more start-up companies, a dedicated hub for 30 remote workers and a space for a fintech, IT or service company similar to GBBG which currently occupies a whole floor in HQ Tralee.
“We’ve actually only reached the beginning of our story here. Right now there are 52 people working here out of HQ Tralee from 18 businesses in what was a former shell of a building,” said Mr Tobin, who, along with Tom O’Leary, co-founded the facility last year.
“Those jobs are generating hundreds of thousands of euro of income which goes back into the local economy, which in turn, creates and sustains further jobs. Shortly, we’ll be announcing two new initiatives enabled by our connectivity with SIRO.

We’ll be announcing a series of direct supports which will help relocate remote workers back to Tralee, including helping them negotiate with their employers and providing them with free trial space in our new building. Secondly, we’ll be launching an online e-commerce platform and in-house training for local retailers and service providers,” said Mr Tobin.
