THE annual Kerins O’Rahillys 10k and 5k Run was very well supported again on Sunday with over 350 registered to take part in the event.
Sam Maguire was present at the club, along with former Kerry stars who were delighted to support the race which this year remembered club stalwart Tom Begley who passed away last year.
“I want to thanks everyone for supporting the run which is always a great social event for the club,” said Chairman Haulie Kerins. “We’re honouring one of the finest gentlemen that we’ve known here in Kerins O’Rahillys and one of the best volunteers we’ve ever had in Tom Begley.”

“Whether it was selling lotto tickets, maintenance, fundraising, training juveniles, Tom did it all and never wanted recognition. But we’re delighted today to honour his contribution to the club for over 40 years,” said Haulie.
The run also kicks off another year for Kerins O’Rahillys after a fantastic 2022.
“It was a great year for the club winning the county senior club and Munster club championships. We’ve a social now in Ballyroe in March which is sold-out with 320 people going, so that will be a great night to celebrate,” said Haulie.
The 10k race saw Denis Hegarty finish fastest in 33:40, followed by Derek Griffin in 34:10 and Karl Lenihan in 34:48. Daniel O’Connor won the 5k in 18:05, followed by Tiarnan Lynch in 18:36 and Aaron Horgan in third in 18:58. All results can be found by clicking here. Scroll down for photos…
Hi, while I was delighted to see such great coverage of yesterday’s wonderfully organised Kerins O Rahillys 10km / 5km; I was disappointed that only the male winners were mentioned in the article itself.
