Mercy Moyderwell boys who took part in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Chiarraí cross country competition in Caherslee on Wednesday.
IF you’re going to be a cross-country runner then the conditions at the GAA grounds at Caherslee on Wednesday provided a fair idea of what lies ahead.
Around 700 youngsters who showed up at the venue experienced bitterly cold conditions on soft ground, as they took part in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil Chiarraí Primary Schools Cross Country Competition.
Four races took place with pupils from Tralee area schools excelling in all races (see full results below).

Spa NS had the best team in the 3rd/4th girls race, followed by Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn in second and Castlegregory in third.
Spa NS was also best team in the 3rd/4th boys race, with Dromclough NS in second and Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn in third.
The Mon Killarney(black singlets) and St Finian’s Waterville taking part in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Chiarraí cross country competition.
In the girls 5th/6th class race it was the Scoil Mhuire, Killorglin team who were the best team with Spa NS in second and Ardfert NS in third.
Finally, the team from Scoil Saidbhín from Cahersiveen were first in the 5th/6th boys race with Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn in second and The Mon, Killarney in third.
The boys and girls received massive support from hundreds of fellow pupils and family members who turned up on a wonderful day for cross-country in Kerry.
