‘THE Troubadour Club’ at The Ashe Hotel was packed on Friday night to officially open the 9th annual Christie Hennessy Festival weekend.
There was an amazing lineup of artists from around the country at the event and every seat in the house was filled before Deputy Mayor of Tralee, Sam Locke, took to the stage to welcome everyone and officially open the festival.
The entertainers for the night included Christie Hennessy Tribute Act – Pam & Joe O’Connor, Kieran Kelly (Dublin City FM), Dara, Glen Dunleavey, Syrens, Loughy (from Stockholm, Sweden), Seamus Harty, Queenless Kings, Roy Buckley and Liam O’Connor & Band.

The Christie Hennessy Song Competition is on Saturday night at the hotel with ten finalists selected from over 250 entries and they will perform their original songs in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges.
The winning songwriter will be presented with a cheque for €1,000 on the night, courtesy of CARA Credit Union while the runner-up receives a cheque for €300. Mundy will be the special guest on the night and entry on the night is free. Scroll down for photos…
