NO bother to them.
The new junior infants arrived at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn on Wednesday morning and they took to primary school like ducks to water.
There were very few tears shed as the 51 pupils settled into the two classes under Olive Ní Ghearáin and Laura Ní Dhonghaile.
“We had a few tears — and the parents got quite emotional too — but the children have settled in very well,” said Principal Cáit Uí Chonchúir. “They’re all so very well prepared after preschool, so they come quite ready for ‘big’ school.”

The school continues to grow and attract new pupils as the Principal explained.
“As well as the 51 junior infants we have eight new pupils in other classes in the school. Obviously the Gaelscoil is in great demand in Tralee and we’re hoping to expand as we need extra classroom space, so we’re talking to the Department at the moment,” she said.
“With the new state of the art Gaelcholáiste coming on stream in the next few years, parents are looking ahead and considering their children’s future,” she added.
In the meantime, the young charges starting this week are about to undertake a journey to get them ready for ‘even bigger’ school in years to come. Scroll down for photos…
