THE weather was a bit showery, but there was still a huge turnout from the community and beyond at the Churchill Forge Open Day on Saturday.
With dancing, a dog show, barbecue and much more, people came and went all day in what was a great event to coincide with National Heritage Week.
Organised by the Spa/Fenit Community Council, the event showcased many arts and crafts skills from a bygone age.

The farrier demonstrated the ancient craft of shoeing horses, while other skills on display included bee-keeping, wildflower display, sugan chair assembly, spinning wheel, firelog making, pottery making and a knot making demonstration.
Traditional music, song, dance and storytelling took place in the marquee which provided welcome shelter during the showers and people could enjoy a burger from the barbecue.
The most popular event while we visited was the dog show which attracted canines of all shapes and sizes, while a falconer with birds of prey was also an engaging feature.
It was brilliant, free family entertainment and great credit is due to the organisers. Scroll down for photos…
