THE St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Food Appeal was a tremendous success in Presentation Secondary School, Tralee this year.

Following a visit from Christy Lynch, regional organiser of SVP, the Student Representative Council was motivated to organise the promotion of the appeal and the collection of food items and Christmas treats in the school.

Students, parents and teachers responded generously to the appeal, with a wide variety of food and treats being donated.

While much of the food was brought in on Tuesday, December 13, the donations continued to flow in for the rest of the week.  Council members were under pressure at times to find enough hamper boxes to accommodate the amount of goods being donated!

Tralee SVP president Junior Locke and a team of volunteers collected the hampers on Friday, December 16.  They were impressed by and delighted with the number of hampers and the quality of the foods and treats donated.

The SRC and liaison teacher, Bríd Prendiville, would like to thank all students, parents and staff who gave so generously to the appeal.
