• An early sign in an upturn in the economy came when the building that was once Fabric Nightclub on Princes Street was sold CLICK HERE
• Munster Rugby fans in the county received a blow when JJ Hanrahan decided to leave the province in favour of first team rugby in England at Northampton Saints CLICK HERE
• Snow fell around the town as a red weather warning was in place that shut the Tralee to Cork train line. Tralee CBS and Colaiste na Sceilige didn’t seem to mind that their match was called off because of a bit of white stuff CLICK HERE
• Former Tralee RFC, Ultan Dillane, signed a two year contract with Connacht Rugby after impressing with the province towards the end of the year CLICK HERE
• The country was warned to batten down the hatches for Storm Rachel, but it turned her bark was worse than her bite and a feared repeat of the storm of February 2013 didn’t materialize CLICK HERE
• The Tralee-based company, Altobridge was sold by a receiver for €4million. The company, which employed 130 people internationally, went into receivership in June 2014 with the loss of 45 jobs CLICK HERE
• New jobs were created when Irish TV opened their Munster office in Kerry Technology Park CLICK HERE
• A wave the size of a double decker bus was recorded off the Kerry coast which was the second highest ever recorded in Irish seas CLICK HERE
• Acorn Life created ten new jobs in town at the financial services firm office in Ashe Street CLICK HERE
• Six TDs have received almost €3m in salaries and expenses since their election to the Dail in March 2011, to July of 2014, according to a report by the RTE Investigations Unit CLICK HERE
• Tommy Walsh, makes a return to football after five years in Australia. He turned out for Kerins O’Rahilly’s in the Town Championship Final against Austin Stacks CLICK HERE
• Ten new jobs were created in the the opening of a new cafe Coffee Start where Charlie Nelligan’s Coffee Shop used to be located Click HERE
