Rose Festival And County Council Nominated For National Tourism Awards

Rose of Tralee logoTHE Rose of Tralee Festival has been nominated for an Irish Tourism Industry Award next month in the Best Festival/Event Experience Category.

It’s one of four nominations, in various categories, for Kerry organisations at the ceremony which takes place on April 24 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin.

The Festival faces stiff competition from the Punchestown Festival, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Sligo, St Patrick’s Festival, and A Giant’s Journey Limerick, Bram Stoker Festival 2014 – Dublin City Council and Croke Park Classic 2014 in the category.

The biennial Irish Tourism Industry Awards showcase the country’s most successful and innovative tourism products, services and experiences.

They are organised and presented by the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation, ITIC’s industry members, Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism Ireland.

The other Kerry nominations are Kerry County Council (Best Local Authority Tourism Innovation category); Killarney Adventure Race (Best Adventure Experience category); The Adventure Travel World Summit – Killarney 2014 (Best Business Tourism Innovation).

Winners will receive an award commissioned by Irish Design 2015 for the Irish Tourism Industry Awards together with promotional branding for use throughout the year.

The Awards give recognition to and promote people, companies and organisations – overseas and at home – that have made significant contributions to developing, marketing, selling and delivering improved visitor experiences in Ireland and to increasing the number of visitors from overseas.
