A LOCAL charity has launched a tasty fundraiser encouraging schools and businesses to get baking and in doing so they might win treats of their own.

‘Cookies for Chemo Day’ will be held on Friday, December 13 and Comfort For Chemo Kerry are seeking the help of the secondary schools and businesses across Kerry to help them fundraise for a standalone chemotherapy unit by baking cookies and holding a sale in their school or workplace.

They have enlisted the help of Mark Doe of Just Cooking Cookery School who has very kindly given them a simple cookie recipe and also made a video of cookie making both of which are available on their Facebook and Instagram sites.

“We encourage those participating to be as creative and inventive as possible , all we ask is that they have fun and spread some Christmas cheer for a great cause,” said Mary Fitzgerald of Comfort For Chemo Kerry.

“As an added incentive the school or business who makes the most money will receive a Christmas hamper of sweet treats for the cookie cooks,” added Mary

If people want to send them photos of their cookies they will post them on their social media sites . They can send them to comfortforchemokerry@gmail.com Meanwhile, you can view their facebook page here and their instagram here. You can watch the video below
